As the name suggests, Santiago de Cuba rums were at the very birth of traditional Cuban rums, coming from one of Cuba's oldest cities. In 1862, the first Cuban distillery was founded here, named Cuba Ron S.A., the forerunner of the Santiago de Cuba brand. The company specializes in dark aged rums as well as more delicate, younger and modern rums that are perfect for tropical cocktails.

This rum from sugar cane has one of the oldest and best-guarded recipes for production in the Santiago de Cuba distillery. It is aged in oak barrels for 11 years, hence its amber colour. Aromas of oak play up the sweetness of grilled pineapple, honey, and tropical fruits. Subtle notes of caramel and sherry are complemented by cinnamon and black pepper. It is a smooth rum with a sweet finish of ripe fruit.
