This exceptional edition of Glen Moray Elgin Classic has been meticulously finished for eight months in sherry casks, imparting a delightful blend of subtle notes including dark chocolate, orange, and dried fruit to the distillery's characteristically light-bodied spirit. Nestled on the banks of the river Lossie, the Glen Moray Distillery boasts extensive warehouses housing approximately 85,000 casks. Originally, the distillery buildings were part of the Elgin West Brewery which dates back to 1897, transforming into the distillery we know today. The unique microclimate, influenced by the high water table, the river, and proximity to the sea, plays a significant role in the maturation process, infusing the whisky with unparalleled richness and depth. This Speyside Single Malt undergoes a rigorous 60-hour fermentation process followed by a double distillation in distinctly shaped onion stills, ultimately creating a refined and elegant spirit.
This particular edition is finished for eight months in sherry casks after the initial maturation period in bourbon barrels.
The ABV for this whisky is 40%.
