This small batch bottling is artfully crafted using only the finest Highland Malts from distilleries such as Blair Athol, Glengoyne, Glen Garioch, and Dalmore, among others. The label pays tribute to Robert Burns' famous poem "To a Mouse", featuring a small mouse symbolizing the "timorous beastie" – a timid creature in Burns' work, but the whisky itself is anything but timid.
On the nose, Timorous Beastie reveals layers of butterscotch and intense floral notes, with evolving aromas of heather honey, citrus fruits, and juniper. The palate surprises with its spicy and gingery character, alongside hints of mashed berries, creamy vanilla, and a touch of eucalyptus. The finish is medium to long, showcasing milky cereals, licorice, and a slightly dry, nutty end.
This whisky is both complex and approachable, with a rich nose of honey, lime, apple cider, and mown grass evolving into flavors of bitter oak, lemon, toffee, and sweetened peach.
