This limited release, distilled in 2005 from molasses using both Pot and Column Stills, boasts a luxurious 59% ABV. The rum is aged in ex-bourbon casks, resulting in an alluring, woody bouquet with hints of vanilla, bourbon, caramel, and coconut.
On the palate, striking notes of vanilla, spice, caramel, coconut, and wood come together in a perfectly balanced symphony, paying homage to the sophisticated art of Barbadian rum making. The spirit has well-integrated alcohol and a long, gourmand finish, where its delightful complexity shines. This exceptional rum is the fruit of the assemblage of rums distilled partly in pot still (alambic a repasse) and partly in a double column still (distillation continue), and it was bottled at cask strength.
Foursquare distillery, owned by the Seale family, has roots dating back to the 1650s in Barbados. With at least five generations of rum-making masters, their skills have been passed down and have significantly contributed to the sophisticated art of Barbadian rum making. Foursquare is seen as one of the leading forces in the rum industry and is expected to remain so.
