Distilled in June 1991 at the now-closed Enmore Distillery in Guyana, this exceptional spirit was produced using the historic Versailles wooden still and carries the KFM mark, signifying that the cane was sourced from the Lusignan plantation, once owned by Kenneth Francis McKenzie.
This rum offers a sophisticated taste experience, where silky alcohol meets a metallic, coppery aspect that warms the palate. The profile evolves with strongly toasted nuts and burnt oak, developing nuances of charcoal, black coffee, molasses, and aged cherries in brandy. The black fruit tannins contribute a notable bitterness but also impart a mysteriously pastry-like quality.
Aged for 30 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels, this rum was released in September 2021 in a limited edition of just 332 bottles, all bottled brut de fut, meaning without reduction in alcohol content.
